The Water
A LAGOON THAT DOES HALF THE TEACHING
Ocean side of US 1, eleven miles west of Long Key. The bottom stays waist deep for a quarter mile out, the surf is modest, the current is weak, and when the tide drops a sandbar surfaces east of the point that you can stand on in the middle of the Atlantic.

THE FLAT
It is the reason riders drive three hours from Miami for a single day, and the reason first-timers who would be terrified anywhere else are riding by the afternoon. Nothing about this water punishes a mistake.
Launch and land in the day use area only, then ride three hundred feet off the shoreline — including past the fence on the campground side.
NOV — APRThe seasonCold fronts stack up one behind another and the east side lights up for days at a time. Camping books eleven months out; the rest of us ride the cancellation list.
E / SEThe money directionCross-onshore, clean, and it runs the full length of the beach. Northeast behind a front comes in strong and gusty close to shore.
LOW TIDESandbar out eastDrops the whole flat to standing depth and exposes a bar a quarter mile east of the point. High tide is deeper and softer if you are sending jumps.
JUN — NOVHurricane seasonLight, hot, and better for snorkelling, paddling and birding than for kites. Watch the park's closure notices when something spins up.

Gravel pads with twenty, thirty and fifty amp power, water, picnic table, charcoal grill, and hammock posts already set. Beach access between sites thirteen and fifteen, a handful with ocean views, accessible bathhouse with hot showers, dump station. No laundry.
Thirty-six dollars a night plus tax for beachfront in the Keys is absurd, which is why residents book eleven months ahead and the good weeks vanish the morning they open.
Cancellations happen constantly — they just never stay open long enough for a human refreshing a page to catch one. That is the part we solve.
Curry Hammock protects a group of islands in the Middle Keys — mangrove swamp, seagrass beds, rockland hammock, and one of the largest surviving stands of Florida thatch palm in the country. Every autumn the Keys funnel migrating raptors straight over this park, and the count here is among the best in North America.

QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK AT THE GATE
01Why buy through you instead of at the entrance?
Because on a windy Saturday the queue at the ranger station is the difference between riding and watching. We buy on your behalf, it arrives on your phone, you drive in. You could absolutely do it yourself — the convenience is the whole product and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
02How long is a day pass good for?
The calendar day you bought it, and no longer. Every visit is a separate purchase. If you are here most weekends the annual pass is cheaper before the end of the second month.
03Does the park rent kiteboarding gear?
No — kayaks, tandem kayaks and guided mangrove paddles roughly every other Friday morning, weather and tide permitting. Anything with a kite on it, you bring it or you arrange it through us.
04Where exactly can I launch?
Launch and land in the day use area only, then ride at least three hundred feet off the shoreline including past the fence on the campground side. Those rules exist so kiters, swimmers and campers can share twelve hundred feet of beach without anyone getting hurt.
05Can you book my campsite for me?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. You book with the state yourself, in your own name. What we do is watch the availability calendar and alert you the moment something frees up — which is the part that actually costs people their trip.
06What if the park is full when I arrive?
Entry is not guaranteed at capacity, pass or no pass. That is the state's rule and it applies to everyone equally. Refunds go through the park on 1-800-326-3521, and we will help you chase it.
07Who are you, exactly?
World Wind Sports — a rider community rebuilt around local chapters at real launch spots, each with named host riders. This is the Curry Hammock chapter. We are not the Florida Park Service and we do not operate the park.
